We invite contributions on workflow optimisation, automation, quality management, difficult materials and large-scale digitisation programmes. How can archival data unlock new forms of discovery and collaboration?
Digitisation is only the beginning. Real transformation occurs when digital records become searchable, structured and interconnected data. This track explores how archival collections are unlocked through data extraction, artificial intelligence, linked data, knowledge graphs and innovative access technologies. We invite contributions that demonstrate how digital images become data resources enabling new forms of discovery, research and collaboration. Archives create value when they connect people with history, knowledge and one another. This track highlights inspiring examples of how archival collections engage researchers, communities and wider audiences. We invite contributions that demonstrate innovative outreach, storytelling, education and participation. Whether through digital platforms, research initiatives or community projects, share how archives are creating meaningful connections, generating knowledge and inspiring new audiences.

Designed to be concise, dynamic, and engaging, lightning talks invite speakers to share a key insight, practical lesson, or innovative idea in a highly focused format. Whether presenting a successful initiative, a creative solution, or an emerging technology, contributors are encouraged to communicate one memorable takeaway that can inspire further discussion.

Panel Presentation
8-minute presentations highlighting practical experiences, innovative approaches, lessons learned, and impactful outcomes from real-world projects and initiatives.
What experiences and lessons can help others advance the digital transformation of archives?
Contributions may present a case study, programme, project, or strategic insight related to the conference themes. Each presentation forms part of a thematic panel and should move beyond description to share experiences, lessons learned, and practical takeaways that can stimulate discussion and offer ideas relevant to other institutions and professionals.

Workshop
Interactive sessions that encourage active participation, collaboration, skills development, and hands-on exploration of ideas, methods, tools, and technologies.

We welcome workshops, demonstrations, roundtables, training sessions, and other participatory formats that encourage collaboration and hands-on exploration. Sessions should provide opportunities to exchange knowledge, develop skills, and work together on ideas, methods, tools, or shared challenges relevant to digital archives.

Share your experience, present your project, and contribute practical knowledge that can inspire and support others across the archival community.

Proposal Preparation
Abstracts should not exceed 500 words.
Lightning talks are prepared to be 3 minutes,
paper presentations 8-minute talks.
Please include:
– preferred thematic section

author(s) and affiliation(s)
– short professional bio
– professional profile or website
(LinkedIn, ORCID, personal webpage, etc.)

Submission
Please submit your proposal by 1 August 2026.
Notifications of acceptance will be sent by mid-August 2026.
The first draft of the conference programme will be published
in early September 2026.
